We Believe

Our 4th second should be an equitable and sustainable world where all people are:

  • Housed
  • Fed
  • Healthy
  • Inspired
  • Part of a thriving ecosystem

Our History

4th Second was founded by Richard and Emily Fisher, in 2016 and since then has played a significant role in catalyzing positive change in Vallejo, California. In 2017, 4th Second launched the Catalyst Fellowship, a hands-on social innovation fellowship to empower Vallejo Youth and equip them with tools to address community needs. Recognizing the pressing need for accessible health care for people experiencing homelessness, 4th Second partnered with Vallejo Together in 2018 to create Vallejo Mobile Health.

As the organization continued to be called to meet the needs of the community, 4th Second incorporated in 2019 and was granted 501(c)(3) tax exempt status in 2020. Since 2020, 4th Second has expanded its programs, and established crucial partnerships to systematically tackle the interconnected challenges facing the community of Vallejo.

Today, 4th Second serves initiatives to support youth substance use prevention and advocacy, social enterprise incubation, whole person workforce development, affordable housing solutions, food sovereignty, and access to healthcare. With a steadfast dedication to improving lives and fostering sustainable progress, 4th Second continues to be an instrumental force in driving positive change in Vallejo, California.

Our Mission

Our mission at 4th Second is to catalyze systemic change through direct service, fostering collaboration, and growing community capacity to bridge gaps between community needs and resources.
